It's About Time!

The last few months, as with many people and businesses has been hectic. 2022 has been relentless. (Although, I always seem to say whichever year it is is non-stop and relentless!)

For Gooey Puds, at least, it has been busy in a good way, mostly (sadly Covid hit after 2 years of being avoidance- but all is good with the world again now!). We have been very busy producing finished desserts for the markets at Bury St Edmunds on Saturdays and Ely on Sundays. From Traditionally Baked New York Cheese cake, Indulgent Dark Chocolate Brownies and Lemon Posset with Gingerbread to a Pumpkin and Dark Chocolate Spiced Moussey thing I created after I had mix left over from making Pumpkin Pies! It has been a daunting experience on occasion, especially in the early days, but now it is lovely to see return customers and even some regulars, turning up every week (sometimes running if the market is nearly over!) to sample the new wares.

We introduced a loyalty card, that has proved to be very popular with the regulars, get 10 stamps and get a free pud!

At Christmas we also produced a White Chocolate and Raspberry Almond Roulade for the local pub, which went down a storm, as well as supplying some complete puds that had been pre-ordered by individual customers for Christmas and New Year.

On the market stall we had full Christmas puddings, Bakewells, Mini Mince Pies and Gingerbread Decoration kits for the kids, to name but a few. We also got a new toy in the form of a Bain Marie so that we could start serving hot puddings like sticky toffee pudding and custard- the smell was amazing!

The next big thing is to ensure that the website is up to date with all of the ready prepared desserts for local delivery/collection. We cover parts of Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk (please check out the delivery detail on line for the exact post codes but if you can reach Wicken, Cambs, in an hour, you are on to a winner! If in doubt- just ask!) Requests are happy taken and catered for (if I can). It is an exciting move forward, and we are looking forward to seeing you at the market stalls, or to you placing an order online!

Anyway, we hope you all had lovely Christmases and New Year! See you from the 21st Jan, back at the markets.

Love,

The Gooey Puds Team
